The MVLA Avalanche Soccer Team were invited to participate in the 2007 Soccer By-the-Bay Tournament August 18th-19th, and ended-up winning the U15 Girls championship. The team competed in the U15 Girls Gold Division and won their three bracket games (Mission Wildcats 4-2, Manteca Futbol 4-0 and Dublin Legends 3-0), before they won a tight game against the OV Sting 2-1 in the championship match. The Avalanche then traveled to San Juan Capistrano and competed in the SoCal Blues Cup over Labor Day Weekend. The team finished as QuarterFinalists in the prestigous soccer event, even though they were suffering from many injuries and illnesses and finished the 3-day tournament with only 11 players (not allowing for any substituitions).
