Greg Conlon has a razor sharp mind and is one of the most fiscally responsible person around. The other two candidates are running to give their side of the highly polarized town council a majority. They are running, not to serve the residents of Atherton, but to perpetuate the power of the side they are aligned with.
Conlon is the only candidate who is not aligned to either side. Instead, he is aligned with the residents of Atherton. If you vote for Conlon you are voting to refocus the currently dysfunctional town council to be responsive to your needs.
Isn't it about time that we elect a selfless, humble, and assiduous person of proven experience and accomplishments who will listen to us, work for our best interests, and reunite our community?
Here's the question I want Conlon and all other council candidates to answer:
Should the Town of Atherton be making the employee pension contribution for an Atherton police officer in addition to the employer pension contribution?
Yes or no.
Conlon is head of the finance/audit committee. No ducking this one.
A more important question for each candidate:
Will you refuse the endorsement and any support form the Atherton Police Officers Association?
APOA emndorsements can bring attention to other isssues. Last year the result was Wimder and Dobbie coming out that did not favor renewal of the parcel tax.
Where do the four candidates stand on this issue?
The APOA has done a really good snowjob attempt at trying to convince voters that their interests are aligned with Atherton reeidents', but it's an absurd notion.
Process, what's your opinion on my question?
I hope that the voters are wise enough not to elect a council candidate who has received the endorsement of OR any campaign support from the AOPA. One of the biggest issues facing the council is the police services budget and the AOPA contract and NO council member should be beholden to the union in those deliberations.
Don't miss out on the discussion!
