“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” opens today 10/18 at M-A High
Schools & Kids, posted by Drama Booster, a member of the Menlo-Atherton High School community, on Oct 17, 2007 at 1:04 pm

M-A’s International Thespian Society presents “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” the next two weekends on the Menlo-Atherton High School campus.

Four young lovers meet in a moonlit forest inhabited by magical creatures in William Shakespeare’s most popular romantic comedy, A Midsummer Night's Dream. The mischievous hobgoblin Puck, the Fairy King, and Queen of the Fairies complicate the romantic entanglements of these star-crossed lovers.

The lovers are played by senior Emma Townsend-Merino and sophomores Kristie Nash, Keenan Rehlich, and Zack Clarence. Senior Aaron Groom stars as the infamous Puck, while sophomore Alexander Most appears as King Oberon with senior Emily Ota as Queen Titania. Senior Julia Robinson directs the play.

Performances are:

• Thursday, October 18 at 7 p.m.

• Friday October 19 at 7 p.m.

• Saturday October 20th at 2 p.m. (matinee)

• Saturday October 20th at 7 p.m.

• Friday October 26th at 7 p.m.

The play is set outdoors in the F-wing Amphitheater, Menlo-Atherton High School, 555 Middlefield Road, Atherton. There will be heaters and a tent to ward off the fall chill and rain; warm clothing is recommended.

Tickets can be purchased at the door and are $5 for students/seniors and $8 for adults. For more information, email madrama@mac.com.
