Menlo-Atherton Boys Golf Team off to a Great Start!
Sports, posted by M-, a resident of the Menlo Park: Suburban Park/Lorelei Manor/Flood Park Triangle neighborhood, on Feb 27, 2008 at 3:16 pm

The Menlo-Atherton Boys Golf Team, last year's Peninsula Athletic League Champions, is off to another great start. In their league season opener on Monday, Feb. 25, they avenged their only 1 stroke loss in 2007 by beating Menlo School 193 to 194 in a 9 hole, par 35 match at Menlo Country Club. Menlo's Patrick Grimes and Will Roberts each shot 37, Menlo-Atherton's Jake Toy also shot 37, M-A Juniors Nick Sako and Ben Jackson each shot 38, while Will Bauer and Peter Gruber each shot 40. The following day, the Bears were again victorious over St. Francis in a non-league match at Sharon Heights. M-A's Nick Sako fired a 37, Nick Chladek and Will Bauer each had a 39, Peter Gruber shot 40, and Jake Toy 41. The Bears will compete in the Monterey Invitational high school tournament at Salinas Golf and Country Club on Monday, March 3rd, where they placed 4th last year among 24 5-man teams and Nick Sako won individual medalist honors.
