49er legend Jerry Rice of Atherton will be signing his new book, "Go Long! My Journey Beyond the Game and the Fame," at Kepler's bookstore on Friday, Jan. 26, from 6 to 9 p.m.
In his book, Rice, a 13-time All-Pro, three-time Super Bowl champion, and “Dancing with the Stars” finalist, shares with readers the life practices he’s employed both on and off the football field to win games, the respect of players, and the love of fans.
Rice uses his football highlights, triumphs, and debacles to illustrate how ambition and humility have been instrumental in all facets of his success.

Jerry Rice was the consummate professional athlete: he avoided the temper-tantrums, 'roid rages, arrogant behavior and unprofessionalism that is the unfortunate hallmark of so many young NFL players.
There is no question of his talent as a player. He's made so many spectacular receptions that it's impossible to single out the best one. What makes Jerry really special is the discipline and intelligence he brought to the playing field.
