Movies in 2009: The year's notables and forgettables
Movies, posted by Editor, The Almanac Online, on Jan 5, 2010 at 5:21 pm

It was an "Up" year for Pixar and a time of particular praise for "The Hurt Locker" and "A Single Man." But 2009 was also the year that "Nine" landed with a thud in theaters. In our annual "best" and "worst" lists, film critics Jeanne Aufmuth, Peter Canavese and Susan Tavernetti give the lowdown on the good and the rotten in 2009's movies.

you REALLY have to pay attention to movies like transformers 2.

for example heres a phrase i found on another page:" because the humans did something wrong that wasn’t explained in the movie".

that had nothing to do with it. some movies dont really need that much plot. its like the simpsons, one thing leads to the next which if you think of it, makes some sense. but you have to pay attention to the movie.otherwise youll never get it. im that young it makes full sense. although some probably didnt make sense its probably because theyre not transformers fans and you have to atleast research transformers to actually understand it. and even if you dont agree you have to admit it was loud and fun.

Maybe one of the things that's wrong with the world is that there are too many "loud and fun" movies and too few of substance. And, too few people who appreciate films of substance. Not the worst thing wrong with the world, surely, but maybe a piece of the puzzle in the big picture.
