Playing without their injured star point guard Jeff Keller, the Menlo-Atherton Bears relied on a smothering defense to shut down the Terra Nova Tigers at Oracle Area (home of the Golden State Warriors) in front of a full house of Terra Nova fans and the Award Winning M-A 6th Man Club. While both teams played tenacious defense, the Bears were relentless, holding Terra Nova to only 12 points in the 2nd half. Nils Gilbertson led the Bears with 13 while Foster and Mathon contributed with 14.
