Boys Varsity Baseball: M-A Falls to Menlo, 10-6
Sports, posted by Bob Moriarty, Team Parent, a resident of the Portola Valley: Ladera neighborhood, on Mar 16, 2010 at 9:41 pm

Menlo-Atherton fought valiantly in the later innings but was unable to overcome an early nine-run deficit, losing to Menlo 10-6 at M-A on Tuesday afternoon, March 16.

Ryan Chilcoat had two hits and a walk for the Bears, while Andy Brodbeck drove in two runs with a double in the 6th inning. Jeff Keller raised his batting average to an eye-popping .647 and his on-base percentage to .700 with a single and three walks. Myles Brewer and Chace Warren each drove in a run for the Bears, whose overall record fell to 2-3.

Warren also pitched effectively in relief, limiting Menlo to one run and two hits over 2 2/3 innings as M-A staged its late-game rally.

M-A returns to action on Saturday afternoon, March 20, against Washington High School (San Francisco).
