Atherton, posted by Susan Skagway, a resident of the Atherton: other neighborhood, on Oct 25, 2010 at 8:51 am

There have been numerous posts suggesting Jon Buckheit used his money to buy justice in a San Mateo County Court.

It is shocking and shameful that the Almanac News has allowed these posts to remain up, all the while deleting posts suggesting that police officers within the Atherton Police Department have engaged in criminal activity.

The Almanac News has applied a double standard in this matter. The conduct of the Almanac News is inexcusable. It is reprehensible.

What is good for the Atherton Police Department and the Department's employees (who are public figures) should be good for Mr. Buckheit who is a private citizen.

Favoritism is not journalism. Favoritism should not masquarade as fairness. Either take down the posts which intimate Buckheit has bought justice or leave the posts up expressing concern about the conduct of those employed by the Atherton Police Department up!

Susan, I agree

"There have been numerous posts suggesting Jon Buckheit used his money to buy justice in a San Mateo County Court."

This is an insult not just at Buckheit but aimed specifically at one of our finest Judges the Hon. Judge Mark Forcum.

I agree shameful, but lets face reality, this is how the game is played by some on the Blue Team.

Thank You for paying attention

"Susan Skagway," I was able to find only one post that matched your description -- one that obviously slipped by the monitor that day. I took it down; it was on the "$20,000,000..." thread.

But you cite "numerous posts." If there are any others, please let us know. Thanks.

Posts critizing Sherman Hall have come down from this board almost immediately. Posts critical of Jon Buckheit, who is leading the charge against corruption in the Atherton Police Department have stayed up indefinately.

This begs the question. Is the Atherton Police Department monitoring this forum. If so is the PD doing this on Town time and with Town equipment? If so is this a proper use of the Town's computer resources and highly paid professionals.

Think about it.
