San Mateo County Supervisor Richard Gordon stopped by Family Service Agency of San Mateo County’s Child Development Center at Haven in Menlo Park on April 25th to read Denise Fleming’s In the Tall, Tall Grass to preschoolers during Week of the Young Child. Week of the Young Child is an annual celebration of young children and those involved in their care and education.
Family Service’s center cares for at-risk toddlers and preschoolers who are the victims of homelessness and/or domestic violence as their parents work towards stability. Supervisor Gordon founded the first suburban shelter for homeless youth in the United States.
