Portola Valley town manager to retire

Angie Howard, the town manager of Portola Valley, said she hopes that before April 2012, the town will find a location suitable for several below-market-rate (BMR) homes and thus fulfill a longstanding state mandate.

I remember hiring -- or shall we say recommending that we set up a permanent position for general maintenance position-- and then Skip (John) Struthers was hired. This was back in the 1970s. So glad he has remained -- a really good worker.

Sound advice -

What ever you do decide...do not hire a consultant to replace, or help to decide how to replace Angie Howard. Further, under no circumstance should you ever let Mr. John H. Danielson or Interwest Consulting Group anywhere near your beautiful town.

For an example, one need only look at what these [portion deleted] are doing to the "once wonderful" Town of Atherton.

Please keep your beautiful community "yours".
