Atherton: Troy Henderson retires after 35 years
Atherton, posted by Editor, The Almanac Online, on Jun 29, 2011 at 12:41 pm

Troy Henderson, Atherton's public works supervisor, is retiring this Thursday, June 30, after 35 years working for the town. Although he had planned to work another year, he had, along with 12 other employees, received pink slips last month, and may have been laid off July 15.

They all lied 6+ times? Outsourcing will be good for the town.

In all the towns I have worked in over 30 years of building houses I have never dealt with a worse public employee than Troy. [Portion removed; see terms of use] Besides being a poor public works inspector he was a costly embarrassment to the town with all the internal harassment complaints. Search his name in these archives if you have any doubt. Web Link

Good riddance!

The APD has been trying to get rid of Troy for years because he knew too many of their little secrets, Officer Pilar Buckly was actively encouraged to take the Town for what ever she could get as long as she took Troy out with her. She got her $250,00 pay off out of the Town per this arrangement, but the Jury just laughed her case out of court.

There are Plenty of people who feel really terrible about all of this Troy, you have to remember this always. Please just ignore the hurtful comments above made by spiteful contractors who didn't always get whatever they wanted as they pillaged their way through Town.

I would like to personally thank Troy for his many years of service to the town of Atherton. He will be greatly missed by many of us, many of us who live and work here. I will miss seeing him on the streets of Atherton.

I too am one of those people who feels terrible about what is happening to our public works department and our building department employees. No one should have this happen to them, especially those working in a town like Atherton.

I wish all the town employees good luck in whatever they do next and thank them again for a job well done.

I'm disappointed by the pot shots that have been taken at this 35-year employee with his retirement announcement. Personally I have to think that a quarter of a million dollars for whatever happened in that break room, on video tape (yet the jury said no dice) should have been sufficient consideration to move on. I hope no current police officers are behind these comments as they should more than anyone respect the findings of a jury or a judge since they are part of the criminal justice 2themselves, by choice, and well paid for it.

Mr. Henderson, thank you for 35 years and sorry for the undignified and petty remarks.

Congratulations Troy! As a few above have said, let the petty remarks just flow down that channel that runs through the Town. You and I both know what really went on (and continues to go on) in that Town.

'All the Best' in your retirement....and GOOD FISHING!!!

Steve

"Show", Lisa and Steve, have you looked at his record of harassment prior to that particular trial? 16 sexual-harassment complaints filed against Mr. Henderson by Atherton town staff members prior to this last one. 16! But they must all be liars right? Really?

Troy congratulations - you've given it all you had to give -
