Menlo Park Toastmasters - Public Speaking Club - Summer Program
Menlo Park, posted by Angela Hey, a resident of the Portola Valley: Brookside Park neighborhood, on May 29, 2007 at 2:58 pm

Come to Menlo Park Toastmasters - every Wednesday at 7:30 pm downtown Menlo Park. For the summer please note we have changed rooms to A26/27 at Menlo Park Presbyterian Church, Santa Cruz Avenue, Menlo Park.

We have specially low new member rates. The self-paced program in public speaking and speech evaluation costs $40 for 4 months membership from June - September. Members also learn how to run a non-profit chapter-based organization.

Our June 20 meeting will be in partnership with staff, high school pupils and college students form Vision New America Web Link.

It will be in 2 parts

(a) a special presentation by VNA on their program for political activism

(b) a short 1/2 hour Toastmasters meeting showcasing typical Toastmaster speeches

Guests are welcome to attend our meetings at no charge. See our website at www.menloparktm.org.

What other organizations should Menlo Park Toastmasters partner with in Menlo Park to get more involved in the community? From the post we are partnering with VNA in San Jose, but there must be organizations in Menlo Park that would like to be better at public speaking.

How many of these speech clubs are located in Menlo Park?

In response to the enquirer who asked how many speech clubs there are in Menlo Park, I only know about Toastmaster clubs.

Menlo Park Toastmasters is the only evening club - Wednesdays.

Go to www.toastmasters.org and Find a Club - you will be able to find clubs in the 94025 ZIP code.

There a lunchtime clubs at SRI (Tuesdays), USGS (2nd and 4th Tuesday), Allstate Research (recently moved to Bohannon area of town near 101 and Marsh Rd - 1st, 3rd and 5th Thursdays), Sun Microsystems (near Dunbarton Bridge Fridays) and Tyco Electronics (Thursdays). All of these clubs are open to the public.
