Note: An earlier version of this story said the 17-inch, high-definition display in the center of the dash is a $1,900 option. The display is actually standard in every Model S sedan and not an option.

My husband and I personally saw the Model S at the premier party in Fremont @ the NUMMI plant. We have been on the waiting list for over 3 years and it was extremely exciting to see the almost final product. It is definately a luxury car and please don't compare to the Leaf or Volt, it is not in the same class. We got to take a test ride and the interior is superb and the drive is exillerating, very similar to the Roaster (if you haven't had a change to test drive a Roadster, I highly recommend). Your head hits the head rest as the car excellerates with an smooth quick thrust (no gear jerks like you get with a regular transmission, no transmission here). The center consol screen is just amazing, technology well put to use. If you're in the market for luxury car with a thrill, this is the car. Don't worry about range, this car will take you where you need to go. Just remember to plug in at night, just like you do with your cell phones and keep driving by those gas stations with a smile.
