3 County Supervisors skip the transparent vetting process, appoint Controller.
Around Town, posted by Michael G. Stogner, a resident of another community, on Mar 14, 2012 at 6:22 am

Supervisors Don Horsley, Adrienne Tisser, and Rose Jacobs Gibson (who was appointed) solved the vacant position of Controller yesterday by appointing Bob Adler.

This is an elected position and should have been placed on the ballet for the voters to fill. It could have been placed on this next June election or waited till November election for as little as $40,000.

This is not the first time Supervisors have ignored what is best for the Voters, but the vote is changing 3-2 instead 4-1.

Tom Huening resigned unexpectedly, shortly after our County Manager resigned after a 3.5 hr closed door session with the Supervisors. The new and improved JAIL we can't afford was a sticking point.

"I've basically said we can't afford it." Tom Huening

Right before Don Horsley became Supervisor "The board voted 5-0 against recommending the elected positions of controller and treasurer become appointed jobs." What has caused the change?
