Facebook adds bar code to roof
Menlo Park, posted by Editor, The Almanac Online, on Mar 27, 2012 at 1:07 pm

Describing it as a "hack of epic proportions," a team of Facebook employees unveiled a 42-foot-square bar code that they'd painted on the roof of a building at the social networking company's Menlo Park headquarters.

Ah, the wonderful corporate enthusiasm of our youth.

It's not a bar code, but a QR code. And it doesn't scan properly because they painted it too close to the edge of the roof. But hey, they're all smarter than we are, aren't they?

"A hack of epic proportions." I hate what's happening to our language.

Scans fine on my Android phone. The URL is Web Link

I bet when this photo shows up on Google maps, they're going to put "Google Sucks" on their web page. Nerds with too much free time on their hands.

Didn't scan for me using QR Droid.

42 feet isn't epic, just "large".

Love the idea, though....

Those hacks did what? Are they gonna brag about it in their timelines? Yawn.

Creative.

Hack?

How is that a hack? I think Zuckerberg thinks he's some kind of maverick in the industry, when he's just another tool.

I also think it's pretty dumb of them to not have the destination of the QR Code up and running. It takes you to fbco.de

Julian Assange gives private individuals information on corporations and governments and he's a criminal, Mark Zuckerberg gives corporations and governments information on private individuals and he's 'Man of the Year'.

Mr. Sleep.........

WELL PUT...WELL PUT.

I actually think his(Zuck's) group is going to get constipated from trying to come up with something better than Facebook. But then, I am not a fan of IT.
