Here's some good news for a change.
The Menlo Park Historical Association (MPHA) is hosting a celebration for the 25 year anniversary of the construction of the Menlo Park Clock Tower, located on Santa Cruz Avenue, corner of Merrill Street, at the train station.
The 11:00 am to 12 noon, one-hour event will feature several speakers, including Menlo Park Mayor, Kirsten Keith, and representatives from the original donor (Ford Land Company), the architect (Hoover and Associates) and the general contractor (Vance Brown Builders).
In addition, several musicians will entertain. Souvenirs will be available for the first 100 people.
This is billed as a fun-filled, family friendly, community-wide celebration that is free, and open to the general public. No reserverations are necessary.
Thanks to the hard work of the Historical Association during this past year, this event promises to become a historical event in itself.

For clarification, the date of the event is TUESDAY, JUNE 19, 2012, from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon. The event is free and open to the general public. No reservations are needed. The location is at the Clock Tower, located at the train station. Parking is limited, so coming early may be helpful. Feedback for this event has been positive. As no reservations are required, it is suggested that one come early for the best seats. The Clock Tower has been repainted and refurbished. It looks great. This should be an interesting event, including a Clock Tower museum available only during the event on Tuesday, June 19, 2002, beginning at 11 am. Souvenirs will be available for the first 100 persons. Parking may be tight, as public parking in the area is very limited.
