The Town of Atherton has assumed responsibility for recording Town meetings. The Atherton Police Officers Association has worked closely with the Town to make this transition, including loaning them our video equipment.

If you look at the section of this video (tape 5 at 23 min and 25 sec) you will see Herman Christensen the Chair of the Planning Commission say with obvious disgust, "I have the feeling this is being railroaded through". Bill Conners the Town Attorney then proceeds to explain that it makes no difference what the Planning Commission says as they really have no voice in judging the adequacy of the DEIR, and it was just sent to them as a courtesy. Of course Dobbie, Widmer and McKeithen knew this and know the DEIR is defective on a number of issues. At least Herman has the guts to say so and why. The other members of the Commission are just appointed lackys.
It is amazing McKeithen claims that the library in the Park is the most enviornment friendly when that is a blantant misrepresentation. The DEIR study is totally a waste of time and money, and it is in fact being railroaded through because it will not stand upon careful examination.
