APOA aka Teamsters slow in posting video of 10/17/12 meeting
Atherton, posted by Michael G Stogner, a resident of another community, on Oct 19, 2012 at 11:23 am

Usually they are right on top of it to keep the residents of Atherton informed of the council meetings. This is the first time I recall that they APOA were on the Agenda #22 Council Response to Atherton Police Officers Association (APOA) Town-Wide mailing. They were put on the agenda by Mayor Widmer.

I was at this meeting, I know several people spoke about this subject and I know it was videoed, I sat next to the guy who videoed it. Looking forward to seeing it, keeping the residents informed is a very good thing.

Additionally, please note that the APOA no longer videotapes the

Council meetings. The Town of Atherton took over the recording of meetings and posting of videos in June of 2012. City Council meetings can be viewed on the Atherton YouTube channel accessed on our homepage under announcements or by clicking on the following link:

Thank you,

APOA is a member (registered user) of Almanac Online

Neither the Town nor the Council told us to stop recording meetings. We worked with the Town to have them take over the responsibility. The APOA was eager to have the Town step into this role, as the recordings were a significant expense to our organization.

The Town hired our videographer. We continue to loan them our equipment. The Town recently invested in curtains to help improve the video quality.

The Town has committed to recording Council, Planning, and Finance meetings. The APOA may choose to record other meetings of interest.

The APOA continues to publish video indexes to the meetings.

APOA, thanks for starting the process and your continued work on the filming.

I watched some of the video. Appears to be a waste of staff time. At the end Mayor Widmer states that the APOA has a right to endorse candidates, but still he wants to publish something regarding a couple of their facts.

Bottom line is the APOA did not endorse his candidates and the candidates of Dobbie and McKeithen so the WMD team is punishing the APOA.

I did not hear any comments on the tape about Sunsetting the Parcel Tax, which is what Widmer and Dobbie want to do in 2014 and how he will pay for police and other services without the Parcel Tax.

I hope Widmer addresses that issue in his letter.

Carlson and Lewis both wanted the Mayor's response to be from 30,000 feet not on details such as response times, etc....
