"The Tempest" Storms M-A's PAC

Original post made by Lyn Napel on Oct 27, 2012

Menlo-Atherton High School's After-School Theater program breathes new Life into this imaginatively staged version of the Bard's classic tale of betrayal and redemption. Love at first sight traps our young heroine, Miranda, between duty and desire. Can you blame her for falling for the first guy to set foot on the island where she's grown up with only her aging father and a half-human monster called Caliban? But this is Shakespeare at his rascally best, craftily pitting magical spirits against mere mortals. Challenged by kidnapping, sleeping charms, sabotage, and the supernatural, is ANYONE ever getting off this island?

There are 4 shows left: October 27th at 7:30pm, November 1st and 3rd at 7:30pm with a special after-school matinee on Friday, November 2nd at 3:30pm. All at M-A's Performing Arts Center at the corner of Ringwood and Middlefield Rd in Atherton.

Tickets $12 adults, $8 students/seniors are available before shows at the box office or online by going to the M-A High School homepage Web Link and clicking on the "Buy Tickets" button in the middle of the page.

This is Shakespeare as it was meant to be experienced—Live!— in a fantastic neighborhood venue! Come join us—you won't be disappointed!

There were some excellent performances in this show. M-A's talent is deep on both ends!
