In response to the article "Money Train" by Jon Mays, on January 18, the following questions must be asked now that San Mateo County residents pay the highest taxes in the State of California.
The supervisors who campaigned for this tax measure had significant conflicts of interest that have never been properly disclosed.
For example, Adreienne Tissier is the CEO of Bay Relations, Inc. Its clients? The San Mateo County Board of Supervisors, Seton Medical Center, Caltrain and Sam Trans.
Why did Seton Medical Center put up most of the money to fund the $1.4M of Yes on Measure A, and also supply the campaign staff? Presumably it feels it is a likely beneficiary of a good chunk of the $60M, and perhaps then it can spend more money with Ms. Tissier's company?
Before the supervisors start spending the $60M of taxpayer money on such things, or giving more raises to San Mateo County law enforcement, I'd like to see our debt paid down. There is $962M of unfunded pension liabilities. Let's pay $50M on the first year, $45M for the second, $40M for the third, and $35M for years four through ten. This would only pay off $380M, but it's a good start, and the numbers are a good illustration of how dire the county's finances are.

Michael, instead of reporting this here... for anonymous people to comment on, you should try posting the source article to Facebook. I'd be surprised if real people are willing to agree with your wild speculation.
I do recall you telling me, to my face, that you refuse to ever be interviewed by the Daily Journal because you had been victimized by one of their articles. You see, if you want to accomplish something real, you need to find a way to work with people, without calling everyone a scoundrel. There is a lot to be done, for sure, and I think you will accomplish more by getting real people interested.

Answer, I appreciate your input, I have posted on FB and for your information I get along with Jon Mays and Michelle very well. As you know I prefer people post under their real name but I respect them choosing not to like you have. This subject will get to the right audience, so give it some time.

And, Ms. Tissier and Michael Pacelli of Bay Relations attended a Sequoia Healthcare District Board Meeting on May 30, 2002.
NEW BUSINESS:
President Faro thanked the directors for changing their schedules in order to attend this special meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to discuss ways the Board can improve its communication with the public, non-profit agencies and the press in addressing the issues
raised in the 2002 Grand Jury Report. Penny Greenberg, the District's legal counsel, has been asked to assist with the District's response which is due August 5.
Mr. Gibson introduced Adrienne Tissier and Michael Pacelli of BayRelations and indicated they were available to assist the District in preparing a communication and public education plan. BayRelations, established in 1972, has extensive experience in
public awareness and community outreach. Ms. Tissier acknowledged that it is important to promote the many beneficial actions taken by the District in financially assisting nonprofit agencies as well as educating the public about the District.
