A farmers' market in downtown Woodside?
Around Town, posted by Editor, The Almanac Online, on Feb 6, 2013 at 9:00 am

Skylonda residents and the Woodside Town Council welcomed a farmers' market on Wednesdays at Skyline Boulevard and La Honda Road. Would the council, residents and downtown merchants welcome another one, perhaps in the public parking lot outside of Town Hall on Saturday afternoons?

I'm wondering what the Owners of Robert's think about this ;)

Your article calls Skylonda "downtown Woodside." Is that really so?

I always thought of the village with Roberts market, the hardware store + restaurants and other businesses, the school, the church etc. as 'downtown Woodside."

Let me know if this is wrong.

The word "residents" refers to all Woodside residents, not excluding residents of Skylonda.

(sigh) Comprehension test time. Read the paragraph again:

Skylonda residents and the Woodside Town Council welcomed a farmers' market on Wednesday afternoons at Skyline Boulevard and La Honda Road in Woodside. Would the council, residents and downtown merchants welcome another one, perhaps in the public parking lot outside of Town Hall on Saturday afternoons?

They call Downtown Woodside the area around Town Hall.

I "raed" (maybe you meant "read") both of the comments after my innocent question about the article HEADLINE "A Farmer's Market in Downtown Woodside."

No need to "sigh."

After reading the article I saw that the location was not what I usually consider being downtown Woodside. Mine was an honest question, not a stupid question, about a carelessly written headline. The editors simply wrote a misleading lead for the story.

Surprised about the very snarky response.

I think a Farmers Market in downtown proper Woodside is a great idea!

The elementary school parking lot maybe? Or Town Hall are both ideal locations. This idea is nice because there are plenty of people in Woodside who grow amazing things and I for one would love to see them all. Growing up near the school and living up on the mountain most of my married life has given me the opportunity to realize that there are farmers everywhere who have wonderful fruits and vegetables as well as flowers, honey, crafts and the list goes on and on to share with all of us. And although I love the drive up the mountain, it is not for everyone. So yes, lets do it. Our town needs more excuses for all of us to get together and appreciate each other in more ways than wealth. I would even bet the happy, positive activity would put a smile on Raeds face as well as others that need smiles around them.
