Almanac. Thank you for the survey. There are some good spots here for sure but, in one person's view, this comes up a bit short for menlo locals. More needs are not being met through our downtown than are being met from current businesses. So, I'd suggest a survey to identify what we'd like to see downtown. It might prove interesting!

Cafe Borrone only JUST recently cleaned up its act w/the Health Dept. Ugh. It's loud, uncomfortable & service isn't consistently good. Once we found out about the Health Dept. issues, we stopped going, making sure to go to Cafe Zoe whenever possible.

As Roger Reynolds' fans, we're surprised that Ladera Garden & Gifts won - will have to check it out again.

Too bad that Prolific Oven's customer service has gone down the tubes, even while its desserts are still great. But we've received top service at SusieCakes, which is a joy to stop into, not the chore that Prolific has become. Growing up, many of our friends had jobs at Prolific as teens, so it pains me to type this. I hope that they get their act together. OTOH, it is hard being pleasant 40 hrs a week to the crowds that frequent downtown PA these days.

LB Steak has also a nice Happy Hour, as does Lutticken's.

It'd be nice to see a shout out to The Willows Market for all the good stuff they have: Food Truck Night, the coffee bar, the BBQ man, wine tastings, beer tastings, Butterscotch on the Go.

The Four Seasons Silicon Valley has great amenities for locals - their bar, restaurant, the spa, their Christmas tree lighting/toy drive & fun events.

Roger Reynolds Nursery & Carriage Shop just closed up shop. Wow. 97 years. Sigh. Like so many, several generations of our family loved to shop there. We will miss them greatly.

JulieToo is a registered user.

It was interesting seeing the winners' list of the Almanac's Readers' Choice Awards.

Many of my favorites were also favorites of others who voted.

I saw some businesses that were unknown to me too. So I am now aware of them and can try them.

I am curious to know how many people participated. How many people voted?
