Glenn W.K. Shelton of Menlo Park graduated from Humboldt State University in December with a bachelor of science degree in botany. He was the recipient of a Young Botanist Award from the Botanical Society of America in 2012. A graduate of Menlo-Atherton High School and College of the Redwoods, he is now studying for his master of science degree in botany from Humboldt. He is a son of Emma and Earl Shelton.
