Council candidate Ciardella is supposed to adhere to California's Fair Political Practices Commission's rules. Unfortunately, his recent campaign mailing does not comply with required disclosures on mailed campaign material.
In addition to that, someone paid for Ciardella campaign stickers to be placed on Almanac issues this week. Unlike Atherton Council candidate McKeithen's similar sticker on a different publication, his do not state who paid for the ad. There is no indication on his that this is actually campaign material and not an endorsement by the Almanac. Readers know that the editors formally endorsed his opponents but this campaign tactic attempts to suggest otherwise.
Our community deserves better than this.
