Last evening, Thursday, coming out from Century 20 movies in Redwood City at 9:00 PM, we walked by a long line of high school teens, sitting and waiting to see a movie.
We had no idea what would generate such interest. Well turning on the TV local news we find we had witnessed what was apparently an area, probably State wide, situation. They were waiting to see the grand opening of a new movie "Twilight" based on a book series that apparently has taken the place of the Harry Potter series.
What I find disturbing is the movie was not going to start until 12:00 AM and this is a school night. Quite obviously those attending are hardly going to be getting much done in the way of school work today.
I don't understand parents allowing their kids to attend such a late showing. Even more to the point is what I see as greed on the part of the theater owners, movie producers etc., for showing the movie at this time of day.
