Thanks Sean, but don't you mean the "2009-10" tax roll, since 2nd installment payment for current FY 2008-09 are due next week, delinquent after April 10th? I don't suspect the county will refund 2008-09 taxes when the revaluation requests are in process now for the next fiscal year 2009-10.

Thanks for your comment. That seemed strange to me, too -- I double-checked it with the assessor's office when I was writing the story, and they confirmed it. I'm not a homeowner, and it's certainly possible there's something I'm missing here, but they told me their deadline for turning in the FY 2008-09 tax roll is June 30, 2009.

Do assessments take into consideration that there are very few comps available in the past couple months, and a large overpriced inventory that no one is willing or able to buy? This tells me the recent comps are not reflective of the value the majority of people would agree to.
