Before throwing out the baby with the bathwater, the city should try to fix any mistakes the cameras might be making. Red light runners have been rampant risking safety of pedestrians and bicyclists, not to mention other drivers. These cameras can act as a much needed deterrent. The goal of these is safety not revenue.

the only way the city can fix any mistakes is to get rid of them or have Redflex employees come to court to tesify as the right to confront an accuser is paramount. Or, they can stop contracting out the service and handle the entire thing themselves (which they'll never do). The cameras need to go. They are not a deterent, they are a money generator for the city.
