"Former Student Sues District Over Janitor Convicted of Groping: Suit Claims Belmont-Redwood Shores School District Ignored, Concealed, Decade of Conduct"
The Belmont-Redwood Shores School District knew that a former Ralston Middle School janitor had been sexually inappropriate with several girls before being jailed for groping a student in 2010, according to a lawsuit by a former student who claims her 2001 assault would have been prevented had officials acted on earlier incidents.
Roxanne Pedro, now an adult, said in the suit filed Wednesday that the district and employees including now County Superintendent Anne Campbell not only turned "a blind eye to [Andre] Edwards' propensity for abuse" but also took "affirmative steps" to hide his history such as sealing a 1996 investigation and not contacting police.

Here we go again. Edwards was NOT required to register as a sex offender. Prosecutor on the criminal case was Melissa Mckowan.
Excerpt from Daily Journal:
In July 2013, Edwards, 55, was sentenced to nine months in jail plus sex offender treatment but not registration. He was originally charged with multiple counts of child molestation but settled the case by pleading no contest to two counts of felony false imprisonment and one misdemeanor count of child annoyance

So Edwards settled out the criminal cases against him for "felony false imprisonment and one misdemeanor count of child annoyance". This is an entirely different civil suit against the superintendent for a cover-up. What about these disturbing facts warrants leaving it alone - the alleged victim will have her day in court.

Why was the third comment that a person in pain posted here about the Menlo School district deleted today? The Almanac would be advised to start investigating instead of censoring.
