Woodside halts work at mansion

The top floors of the three-story mansion at 360 Mountain Home Road in Woodside are reported to be resting on steel beams above a large empty space where the foundation, basement and first floor used to be. It could be that way for a while.

Good news for the delay......no more large dump trucks speeding down Mountain Home Road. I witnessed many near accidents with bicyclist, horses, hikers and cars:))))

well, instead just go to see the summer shakespeare performances and chuck it all. what about filoli? the pulgas water temple can be fixed too. this sounds like it's too much work. enjoy the area-see if you can live there

If the project outcome is the same why meddle in their process?

The purpose of the ASRB and PC is to make sure projects match the fabric of the Town. Why should it make any difference if it is 'a demolition' or a 'remodel' if the final building meets their goals?

This smacks of abuse of power. Really arrogant statements coming out of the mouths of the commissioners accusing the owner and builder of some kind of deception. It is clear these commissioners don't have a very good grasp of life safety requirements in the code. Especially seismic safety.

Classification as a remodel vs. a demolition can confer favorable property tax adjustment treatment, but that seems an unlikely motivator for someone who can afford the most expensive home purchase ever in the USA. See:
