Big waves hit Mavericks observers, injuring 13

The Mavericks Surf Contest near Half Moon Bay -- called by surfers as the biggest surfing event in history -- had bigger-than-expected waves Saturday that flooded beaches and observers and injured at least 13 persons. The contest was won by a 36-year-old man, Chris Bertish, from South Africa.

The Maverick's Surfing Competition bring is projected to bring in $29 million in revenue for this amazing contest.

I certainly hope it does. How is the money made?
