As Jerry Carlson leaves Atherton, it's appropriate to look back at the Jerry Carlson from 13 years ago, who lobbied against the parcel tax because the town didn't implement proper cost cutting measures.

Jerry Carlson believes that "the parcel tax should be used as an "investment" in the city's future and not as a source to augment general on-going operations."

I agree with him. It should not be used to pay for a police department we cannot afford.
