I saw this documentary and loved Melissa's story. What I keep wondering is what happened to the sister-in-law. How could anyone, especially a relative, get so angry as to hurt someone as bad as she did? Were there charges pressed against her? How did she feel knowing she'd hurt Melissa so badly? I can't get my head around that and wonder what ever happened to her.

I'm curious like Heather: what happened to the sister-in-law?

Hi Heather,

I am glad you watched the film HAPPY and liked it. It is really sad and it is hard to understand- she did not mean to hurt me and yet, ran over me. Emotions can blind us, even for a few seconds, and those seconds can be dangerous. But it was an accident. No charges were pressed. I cannot speak for her- only she can, (as to how she felt). It has taken time but I have forgiven and we are friends. Healing is powerful.... my inner healing is up to me and learning to let go and be grateful for today has been powerful.

Blessings, Melissa

I too wondered about the sister in law and the two of you were related. Your marriage ended after the accident and it sounded like your husband struggled with guilt. That made me wonder if she was from his side of the family.

I haven't lived half the adversity you have to, and sometimes I find hard to trust in people. You are the most inspiring person I have heard about. With all the due respect, may I ask if you think God exist? Do you think all this that happen to you have a trascendent sense? Please do not misunderstand me, I just want to know wether you have had a personal experience with God. A simple answer of Yes of No, will be enough. Thanks a lot for sharing your story. It helps me a lot. I beg everybody else not to post about their personal beliefs about God.

Hi Melissa,

You are inspiring, beautiful and wise. You have taught me that true beauty comes from within and physical beauty is icing; nice but not all too important to the cake. I can tell that you are a loved woman. You are a real beauty!
