Code enforcement gets a boost in Atherton

Although Atherton will continue to cite violators of its city ordinances only when a complaint is received or a public official notices a violation, the town will soon increase the hours of its code-enforcement officer from 12 to 20 hours a week.

Police doing zoning enforcement instead of public safety? Did they get tired of ticketing maids, gardeners, and UPS delivery people?

An amazing town: The code enforcement officer is contracted and not a police officer; and "Public Official" includes "Council Members". So Council Members have increased the budget because they are "noticing" more violations.
