Laurel Performance?

Original post made by Curious Parent, Menlo Park: Allied Arts/Stanford Park, on May 27, 2008

Laurel, which was recently named a blue ribbon school, was no longer in the top 10% (which just about all the local Palo Alto, Menlo Park, etc. schools are), but is now in the 70% range (8th decile) and is in the bottom 10% of similar schools.

The award is based on many criteria, not just STAR scores.

But yes, that class is a well known aberration. Maybe it's a Y2K thing, since most were born in 1999.
