Redwood City Police did a great job by posting the video of this guy.

This is a great example of how over crowding is a pervasive problem in North Fair Oaks. I would love to hear from one of the candidates for Supervisor address. If he hadn't been allowed to live in the garage he was in, economics would have had him settle elsewhere.

Fred is right on. The problem in much of NFO is that, in addition to other citizens, it is packed with undocumented immigrants who are living in garages/garden sheds/trailers/cars/ and/or dozens to a 1 br apt. Zoning Enforcement is minimal, parking is non existent, dumping is widespread and the Sheriff's patrol cars drive by blatant problems such as gang graffiti and dumping without alerting other County departments. All of this breeds crime. The county has provided no affordable housing, has not updated antiquated infrastructure or attracted businesses. The supervisor for that district has seemingly done nothing to foster improvement of conditions since day one. This costs taxpayers mega dollars for trials etc. Yesterday's capture of an armed robber was the result of a shop owner's camera, and many residents (including the man's relatives) turning him in. However, all the publicity goes to a massive SWAT presence that basically out-sat him. Kudos should go to the neighbors who gave him up.

Video camera was the major cause for his capture. Relatives and neighbors called in which was the right thing to do, and law enforcement sat him out which was the right thing to do. Again great ending

My familyhas been here for 62 years. I have lived in redwood city by the tracks. Had the best hardworking kind neighbors . If we give all our homes to affordable housing the garages and sheds will still be full. The unsafe conditions are a fire and safety hazard police did a great job
