JobTrain to hold open house Thursday
JobTrain, the Menlo Park-based nonprofit that provides training, counseling and job-placement services, is celebrating 45 years with its annual open house and barbecue from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 7, at 1200 O'Brien Drive.
Formerly known as OICW, the organization was founded in 1965 to serve low-income people in Menlo Park and East Palo Alto. The name was changed to JobTrain in 2007.
The event will include live jazz, student-led tours, and a barbecue prepared by JobTrain's culinary arts program. There will be a "Kids' Zone" with a clown, balloon art, face painting, and other fun activities. A short program will be held at 5 p.m.
To RSVP, call 330-6419.
