Richard Ginn wins seat on Las Lomitas school board
The final, semiofficial vote count is in: With a 68-vote lead over a fourth candidate in the Las Lomitas School District board race, Richard Ginn has won a seat on the five-member board, along with Ann Jaquith and incumbent Jay Siegel.
Although Ms. Jaquith and Mr. Siegel had enough votes to guarantee their wins after the initial vote count, the race was too close to call for the third open seat.
The San Mateo County Elections Office announced the results of the final vote count on Nov. 17; Mr. Ginn received 2,117 votes, and Mark Reinstra received 2,049.
Ms. Jaquith was the top vote-getter, with 2,733 votes. Mr. Siegel received 2,316 votes.
Elections official David Tom said anyone can request a recount in any race within five calendar days of certification of the vote, which is scheduled to happen on Nov. 29. The person asking for a recount would have to pay for it, unless it results in a change in the results, he said.
