"Great Places to Work." Patti Lee-Hoffman will discuss her new book, "In Good Company: Triage Consulting Group Unlocks the Secret of Great Places to Work," at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, at Kepler's bookstore, 1010 El Camino Real in Menlo Park. The book profiles 11 companies that are thriving, although they are in businesses hit hard by the recession.

Canary Foundation Luncheon. Canary Foundation's 2nd Annual Cancer Early Detection Series with Kris Carr will be held Feb. 2.
