It's not your father's bookmobile

Bookmark and Share
The San Mateo County Library has introduced a bookmobile that may be unlike any you have seen before. It is a 35-foot-long bus with computer workstations, solar panels and an awning for outdoor cafe seating, says Anna Koch, library service manager for the county library system.

The bookmobile can hold "thousands of books, magazines and other materials for everyone from young children to older adults in English and Spanish," she said in an announcement. There is bench seating, wheelchair access and wireless connectivity, she says.

It will be making visits to local community, including Atherton, Portola Valley and Woodside, which have libraries that are part of the San Mateo County Library system.
