Nationwide emergency alert test Wednesday

Bookmark and Share
When you hear that emergency alert system tone on the radio on Wednesday, Nov. 9, at 10 a.m., don't panic. It's the first test of a nationwide emergency alert system by federal, local, and state authorities. The test takes place via radio and television, and should last about four minutes.

Go to smcalert.info to sign up for text message emergency alerts from the county. For more information, call the San Mateo County Office of Emergency Services at 363-4955.
