Bookmark and Share
Three girls from Focus Cheergyms in Redwood City — Chaz Fowler of Menlo Park, Nikki Cavanaugh, and Shannon Yannazzo — will be going to the Cheerleading World Championships in Florida at the end of April. Chaz is a junior at Castilleja school in Palo Alto.

The girls are part of the Cheergyms All American team, which won a bid to the world championships in the Golden State Spirits Association national competition March 5 in Sacramento.

All three Focus teams won honors in the competition with the senior team taking first place and the two junior teams taking third place.

Other Focus senior team members are Maria Lombera, Courtney Samoly, Amber Myerholtz, Amber Iacini, Miranda Myerholtz, Jessica Park, Adriana Angeles, Hayley Hampton, Kristina DeBattista, Brittany Hill and Jessi Gutierrez.

Cheergym has programs for girls and boys ages 5-18. Tryouts for the coming season start Wednesday, April 19. For information, call 367-4933 or visit www.cheergyms.com.
