Women arrested in Woodside purse, credit card theft

Two women have been arrested on charges of stealing a purse from a Woodside resident and using her credit card in a San Bruno shopping spree August 20, the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office has reported.
Jennifer McPike of South San Francisco, 25, and Jessica Quiroz-Mason of Redwood City, 26, were arrested Sunday by San Bruno police at the Sears Auto Center on El Camino Real in San Bruno after the victim called the credit card company and the Sheriff's Office, Lt. Jones said.
The Woodside resident had returned to her home in the 100 block of Sheridan Way on Sunday afternoon to find mail from three Woodside addresses strewn in her bushes, including an empty envelope for a credit card application, said Lt. Jones.
She returned the mail to the homes and found that some of the mailboxes had been forced open, Lt. Jones said.
After realizing that her purse wasn't in her car where she thought she had left it, or in her house, she informed the Sheriff's Office, said Lt. Jones.
She then called her credit card company and was told that her card had been used at four locations within the last hour. While she was speaking with the credit card representative, a purchase was made at the Sears Auto Center.
San Bruno Police were dispatched to the scene, where they apprehended the two women and found the victim's purse and merchandise from the stores in their possession, Lt. Jones said.
The women are in custody on charges of grand theft, four counts of felony commercial burglary, and three counts of theft of credit cards.
"This might clear up some other cases," he added.
Several mailboxes in the 100 block of Quail Meadows Drive were pried open and looted on August 15, according to the Sheriff's Office.
Woman reports rape
in Woodside
An 18-year-old woman reported that she was raped by a 22-year-old man at his home on the 600 block of California Way in Woodside on August 16, according to the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office.
The woman has identified the suspect, but the District Attorney's Office is still investigating the case so no arrest has been made, said Lt. Jones of the Sheriff's Office.
She reported that the man invited her to his home and had sexual intercourse with her despite the fact that she said "no" several times, according to the Sheriff's Office.
They had previously known each other through a class they were taking together, Lt. Jones said.
