The young at art to show works at gallery
Mark Gallagher, owner of Atherton Fine Art Gallery in Menlo Park, is holding a first-time children's art exhibit at the gallery from March 4 to 8. It will feature a selection of artworks by Peninsula children involved in the Art in Action programs. The art will be professionally framed and hung in a gallery setting.
Students from Corte Madera School in Portola Valley and Nativity School in Menlo Park will be among those whose work will be on display.
Special art pieces have been created for this exhibit inspired by Art in Action lessons. One hundred young artists are taking part in the project, which culminates on March 10 at the Atelier d'Artistes benefit at the Sharon Heights Golf and Country Club. The children's art will be for sale, with all proceeds donated to Art in Action.
There will be a special "meet the artists" reception for the young Picassos at 5 p.m. Friday, March 7. A champagne reception for the older set will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, March 6, at the gallery. Atherton Fine Art Gallery is located at 700 El Camino Real in Menlo Park.
