Around Town: Financial crisis -- talk by hedge fund manager
Matthew Kratter, president of Kratter Capital, will speak in Woodside on Tuesday, May 26, on the causes of and cures for the economic crisis from the perspective of a hedge fund manager.
The free Woodside Forum program, which include time for questions, will run from 7:30 to 9:15 p.m. in Guild Hall at Woodside Village Church, 3154 Woodside Road in Woodside.
Among the questions Mr. Kratter may address: How did the financial system, managed by the "best and the brightest," take such a dive? What is the "shadow banking system"? Why did Lehman Brothers collapse? Why did the government invest billions to keep AIG afloat? What is meant by "toxic assets," which we, as taxpayers, now own by the billions? How can we recover from the mess we're in?
The Woodside Forum is a series of free public service events sponsored by Woodside Village Church. For more information, call 465-0011.
