Letter: Grateful is not the word used here

Bookmark and Share
I'm responding to the grateful (April 7) letter about Congresswoman Anna Eshoo's vote on health care, a letter that was so full of hot air that it just as well could have come from Rep. Eshoo's office.

Rep. Eshoo is an elected servant who voted for a bill that a majority of the Americans didn't like. As of right now, only 39 percent of the people like what they see. She and all the Democrats had to use the reconciliation process to vote this bill into being. Special interest groups and lawyers put this 2,000-page mess together. And whatever happened to President Obama's posting of bills on the Internet 48 hours before a vote? A good healthcare bill would sell itself.

I'm also upset at this letter writer's use of the term "fringe elements," like who, the majority of the American people? I would have rather seen a fix of Medicare as a test of competence. Remember, big government makes small citizens.
