McLarnan picked for team soccer pool

Gabriel McLarnan, 14, of Portola Valley has been selected to be in the Northern California ODP (Olympic Development Program) team pool for 14-year-old boys. He will be vying to attend the regional tryout in Oregon in July, according to Julie Petersen, manager of the Burlingame Ajax Soccer Club. Gabriel, an eighth-grader at Corte Madera School, plays with the Burlingame club. He will attend St. Francis High School in

Alex Lopez

Alex Lopez of Portola Valley, a freshman at Woodside High School, has earned first-team all-league honors in the El Camino Division of the Santa Clara Valley Athletic League. Lopez was also named the Freshman Athlete of the Year at Woodside High School.
