Letter: Open up Alma to Sand Hill traffic

Thanks to The Almanac for pointing out how little Stanford is doing in taking steps to mitigate traffic effects from its planned expansion.

As a volunteer at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital for over five years, I generally favor the expansion, but only if traffic is mitigated. The opening of Alma so that drivers can go from Sand Hill Road directly to and from Palo Alto — rather than clogging El Camino in either direction while making their way indirectly back to and from downtown Palo Alto — is a minimal and necessary start.
