Letter: Lack of service in garbage deal
As a South Bay Waste Management Association rate-payer, I suggest that actual routes be studied, not just two-dimensional maps.
Recology's Gino Gasparini has told me that his new trucks will still not travel the private road that I share with two other households, and that, come January, I must haul my bin to the "curb," which is defined as the frontage road approximately 540 feet uphill from my property line. If I opt for "backyard service," someone will come to pick up the bin for a surcharge that adds up in 50-foot increments.
There's a lack of "service" in this garbage deal and I am appalled at being penalized for my property's location.
