Teens attain Eagle Scout rank
Tyler Estkowski, 18, and William Schultz, 16, both members of the Menlo Park Presbyterian Church-sponsored Troop 222, have achieved the Eagle Scout rank.
To become an Eagle Scout, scouts have to earn a minimum of 21 merit badges, serve as a troop leader for six months, and plan, develop and lead a community, school or religious service project.
Tyler restored benches and fitness par course stations at Holbrook- Palmer Park in Atherton, putting a total of 226 hours into this service project. A graduate of Menlo-Atherton High School, he is a student at Foothill College. He will report to the U.S. Navy in January.
William Schultz worked on restoring trails in Edgewood County Park for his Eagle Scout service project. A total of 120 hours of service went into the project. He is a junior and honor-roll student at Menlo-Atherton High School. He also plays saxophone in the M-A Jazz Band and starts on the M-A varsity badminton team. After graduation, William hopes to attend college and possibly study astrophysics.
